About San Ramon Custom Railing
Who We Are
San Ramon Custom Railing is a locally owned railing fabricator and installer serving the San Ramon Valley and the wider Tri-Valley. We design and build railings and gates for single-family homes, townhomes, apartment buildings and commercial properties in Contra Costa and Alameda counties, working in iron, stainless cable, tempered glass and powder-coated aluminum.
Call our 925 number and you reach people who understand metalwork and this valley: the two-story foyers in 1990s tract homes, the hillside decks around Danville and Alamo, the architectural committees that weigh in on a balcony rail's color. We give you a straight answer about what will hold up, what it should cost in a realistic range, and what your building inspector will check.

How We Work
Nothing we install comes off a warehouse shelf. Each railing is measured at your property, drawn to fit the space, and fabricated in our shop, where cutting, welding and finishing stay under our control. That matters when an opening is out of square, a staircase turns twice, or an aging deck needs posts set around existing framing.

Shop Drawings
CAD drawings show the layout, post spacing and details so you approve the design before any steel is cut.
Code Review
Guard height, baluster gaps, handrail grip and anchorage are checked against the California Building Code.
Fabricate & Install
We weld and finish in the shop, then anchor everything on site and walk the finished job with you.
Paperwork is part of the job too. When a project needs a permit, we prepare the railing details plan reviewers ask for and help you assemble the submittal for San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek or Contra Costa County. If your neighborhood has an architectural review process, we supply drawings and finish samples for the HOA application.
What We Build
Our work covers residential and light commercial railing from the front steps to the top-floor balcony:
Property managers, HOA boards and general contractors often need more than one railing. For multifamily railing programs, HOA and condo replacements and builder work, see our railing solutions overview.
Where We Work
We cover the San Ramon Valley and Tri-Valley, including San Ramon, Danville, Alamo (with Blackhawk and Diablo), Dublin, Pleasanton and Walnut Creek. Each has its own permit office and its own habits, and the County handles permits for unincorporated Alamo.
Local conditions shape what we recommend. There is no salt air out here, but long, hot, dry summers chalk cheap paint and dry out wood rails, so we rely on oven-cured powder coat over zinc primer or galvanizing. The Calaveras Fault runs along the west side of the valley, one reason we favor welded connections and through-bolted posts. And because parts of Danville and the hills around Alamo are mapped in elevated fire hazard zones, more owners are asking about noncombustible metal and glass in place of wood. See the full service area for details.
Our Commitments

Every drawing is checked against the 42-inch guard rule and the 4-inch sphere rule before fabrication starts.
